Spread + commission + swap

Add the three costs together, then decide the trade — FxPro Kenya 2026

A position pays in three places — the spread it crosses, the commission the account charges, and the swap it carries overnight. Read separately they look small; added together they set the distance price has to travel before the trade is even. This site measures all three and adds them up.

A position at FxPro pays in three places: the spread it crosses, the commission the account type charges, and the swap it carries past the daily rollover. On Standard the cost is the spread alone, from 1.2 pips; on Raw+ the spread starts at 0.0 and commission is $3.50 per lot per side, so $7.00 for a round turn on one standard lot. Which is cheaper depends on the measured spread at that moment, which is why the figures on this site carry the time they were read. Added together the three give the break-even distance for a trade. FxPro Kenya — the short version

Start with the round turn. On a Standard account the cost is the spread alone, quoted from 1.2 pips; on Raw+ the spread starts at 0.0 and a commission of $3.50 per lot per side applies, which is $7.00 to open and close one standard lot. Which comes out cheaper depends entirely on how wide the spread actually is at the moment of the trade — and that is a measurement, not a constant, which is why our figures on the live spreads page carry the time they were read.

Then add the part that accrues while nothing happens. A position held past the daily rollover is charged or credited swap depending on the instrument and the direction, and over a week that line can exceed the cost of entry — the rates are on the swap rates page. Put the three together and you get the break-even distance: the number of pips price has to move before the position is level. Terms can change, so confirm the current ones before depositing.

Frequently asked questions

Which account is cheaper, Standard or Raw+?
It depends on how wide the spread actually is when you trade. Standard charges the spread alone from 1.2 pips; Raw+ starts at 0.0 and adds $3.50 per lot per side. On a tight instrument at a liquid hour Raw+ usually wins; on a wide one at a thin hour the commission can outweigh the saving.
What is a round turn?
Opening and closing the same position. On Raw+ that is two commission charges — $3.50 per lot each way, $7.00 in total for one standard lot — plus whatever spread was crossed on entry and exit.
How much does an overnight position add?
It depends on the instrument and the direction: swap is charged or credited at the daily rollover, and the long and short rates differ. Over a week held, that line can be larger than the cost of entering the trade, so it belongs in the sum from the start.
What is the break-even distance?
The distance price has to move before a position covers its own costs — spread crossed, commission paid, swap accrued. Adding the three before opening turns a trade idea into a number that can be checked against a target.
Why do the spread figures on this site have timestamps?
Because a spread is not a constant. It widens around news and thin liquidity, so a number without the moment it was read cannot be checked or compared. Our figures are logged from a live terminal with the time attached.
Is the account held in shillings?
No — the balance is denominated in dollars, so all of this arithmetic is in dollars. A shilling card is converted by the issuing bank at its own rate on the way in and again on the way out.
